VOTE SHAUNDA FOR ASHEVILLE CITY COUNCIL

A Message from Shaunda Jackson

I’m Shaunda Jackson, and I’m running for Asheville City Council because the people who live here should come first. This is my home. I was raised here, and my work as a community social worker has shaped how I lead by listening to neighbors, solving real problems, and helping families stay rooted in the places they call home.

I believe growth should serve the community. Safety should be real. Children and families should always come first.

Together, we can build a city where every resident feels heard, protected, and included.

Belonging starts with homes, safety, and our children.

Putting Asheville Residents First

Asheville is home and city leadership should treat it that way. Shaunda Jackson is running for City Council to protect neighborhoods, strengthen communities, and ensure Asheville grows in a way that serves the people who live here year-round.

Residents First
Asheville residents deserve to be prioritized in city decisions. Growth should strengthen our community, not push people out or make them feel like strangers in their own hometown.

Asheville should work for the people who live here, not just for profit, power, or perception.

Community & Housing Stability
Safe, stable, and affordable housing should exist across all neighborhoods. Shaunda supports people-centered development, neighborhood stability, and coordinated solutions that address housing, mental health, and economic security together.

Growth should strengthen our neighborhoods, not push families out.

Real Safety in Every Neighborhood
Public safety should never depend on zip codes or tourism zones. Shaunda supports equitable police presence, community-based policing, and smart solutions that address root causes, not just symptoms.

Every neighborhood deserves real safety. No exceptions, no zip code politics.

Investing in Our Youth
Shaunda believes investing in youth is investing in Asheville’s future by supporting Youth programs and after-school opportunities, community centers that serve families year-round, safe recreational spaces, activities that promote confidence, creativity, and leadership

When young people feel supported, entire communities thrive.
